Smokefree Playgrounds
Smokefree Canterbury is carrying out a pilot trial of Smokefree playgrounds in the Hornby area - playgrounds in Wycola, Branston and Helmore parks have been designated as Smokefree. Parents and carers visiting the playgrounds with children are being encouraged not to smoke.

Why is this trial being carried out?
Children copy what they see. Smoking around children makes it more likely that they will take up smoking for themselves.
